Design guidelines
for the proposed Indian broad gauge railways extension to Central
Asia:
*Electrification should be 2x25kV AC overhead
lines.
*Passenger platform height should
be 200 mm (7.9 in) above rails.
*Sleeper
type should be concrete.
*Loading gauge
should be 4.1m wide and 6.15m tall.
*Double-track side should be right-hand
runnning.
*Minimum overhead wire height
should be 6.5m above rails.
*Minimum
passenger platform length should be 600m.
*Rail profile should be 75kg/m.
The Indian
broad gauge railways extension to Central Asia are desireble to create multiple
break-of-gauge points between Indian gauge and Russian gauge without any other
gauge intervening.

Rail Laurentia project
Rail Laurentia project is the proposed broad-gauge railways
for North America.
Design guidelines:
*Track gauge should be 5 ft (1,524 mm) and 5 ft 6 in (1,676 mm).
*Electrification should be 2x25kV AC overhead lines.
*Railroad ties should be concrete.
*Passenger platform height should be 5 inches (127 mm) or 8 inches (203 mm) above rail.
*Minimum platform length should be 2,000 feet (609.6 metres).
*Minimum overhead wire height should be 6.5 metres (21 ft 4 in).
*Rail profile should be 152 lb/yd or 155 lb/yd.
*Minimum passing loop length should be 1 mile (1,609 metres).

Rail North China project
Rail North China is
the proposed 1,524
mm (5 ft) Russian
gauge railways for northern China
which will seamless link with Russia, Mongolia and
Kazakhstan.
Rail North China project design guideline:
*Track gauge: 1524mm
*Electrification: 2x25kV 50Hz AC overhead lines
*Double track side: Right-hand running
*Railroad ties should be concrete.
*Platform height should be 200mm above rail.
*Rail profile should be 75kg/m.
*Passing loop length should be at least 1500m.
*Overhead wire height should be at least 6.5m above rail.
Compare to Rail Baltica II:
Rail Baltica II is the 1435mm gauge railways for Baltic States, whereas Rail North China is the proposed 1524mm gauge railways for Northern China.
Rail North China project design guideline:
*Track gauge: 1524mm
*Electrification: 2x25kV 50Hz AC overhead lines

狭軌非対応型軌間可変電車
2019年より、国土交通省及びJR東日本などに広軌―標準軌で軌間可変するフリーゲージトレインの開発が要望される。現在中国で運用されているCRH5形をベースに、1435mm軌間と1524mm軌間の両方に対応し、客用ドアには高さ200mmのプラットホームに対応したステップを装備、交流25kV(50/60Hz)と交流20kV(50Hz)に対応、車体幅3.2m、現在中国で運用されているCRH5と同じ車体塗色で、CRH5の「CRH」「和諧号」のロゴが入る位置に「FGT」のロゴが入る。軌間可変装置に炭素繊維強化プラスチックを使用し、軌間可変装置の小型化・軽量化・精度向上を図る。量産先行車はアルストームのイタリア工場で32両(8両x4編成)製作し、JR東日本に納車する。また東北新幹線仙台総合車両基地に1435mm軌間と1524mm軌間の軌間自動変換装置を設置する。
